Features

Every way you need to hide something

Single-click blur

Point, click, it's blurred

Press Alt+B, hover anything (a table cell, an avatar, a whole card) and click. Click again to unblur.

  • ↑ / ↓ or Alt+scroll to grab the parent or child
  • Shift+click to blur several things at once
  • Works on images, video, canvas, iframes and inputs
Blur Area

Draw a box over anything

Drag a rectangle over a chart, a sidebar or part of an image. It stays over the same content while you scroll, even inside scrollable panels.

  • Move, resize and delete. Handles only show on hover, so they stay out of recordings.
  • Pin to the viewport for sticky headers
Keep Blur

Blur once, hidden every time

Turn on Keep Blur and your blurs come back whenever you reload or reopen the page, including single-page apps like Gmail, Stripe and Google Analytics that render late.

  • Match an exact URL, a page, or a whole site
  • Saves locators and rectangles only, never page content

Intensity & style

Go from a light 2px haze to a 30px wall, or switch to a solid redaction box or pixelation. Existing blurs update live.

Selected text

Highlight a sentence, right-click and choose “Blur selection”. It works across bold, italics and links.

Auto-blur & clear all

Find emails, phone numbers, card numbers and API keys automatically. Clear everything with Alt+C.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does any of my data leave my device?

No. VeilKit applies the blur directly to the page in your browser, and no page content is ever sent anywhere. There is no analytics on the pages you visit. Saved blurs store only a URL pattern, an element locator and a position, never the text or images you blurred. The only network requests VeilKit makes are license checks.

Why does VeilKit need permission to run on all websites?

VeilKit can only blur content on pages it is allowed to modify, and Keep Blur needs to restore your saved blurs automatically when you return to a page. Both require access to the sites you visit. That access is used solely to apply blurs locally.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi share a single build. Firefox (version 128 or later) and Safari (version 17 or later, on macOS) each have their own build. One license works across all of them.

How do seats and active browsers work?

Each browser profile you activate uses one seat. Professional includes 3 seats and Startup includes 10. Re-activating a browser you have already activated does not use an additional seat. If you reach your limit, the extension lists your active browsers so you can deactivate one. You can also manage them from My Account at any time.

Will blurs appear in Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Loom and OBS?

Yes. VeilKit changes the page itself rather than adding an overlay to your video, so any tool that captures your screen, window or tab records the blurred version. No post-editing is required.

Why can't I blur the address bar or browser tabs?

For security reasons, browsers allow extensions to modify web pages only. The address bar, tabs, bookmarks and other browser controls cannot be changed by any extension. To keep them out of view, share a single tab or window instead of your entire screen, or use your recording tool's crop feature.

Why didn't my blurs return after reloading the page?

Make sure Keep Blur is turned on. You can enable it before blurring, or afterwards, in which case it also saves the blurs already on your open pages. Next, check the match scope: "Exact URL" does not match a different query string, so "Page path" or "Whole site" may suit you better. On apps that load data gradually, such as Gmail, Stripe or Google Analytics, blurs reappear as soon as the content renders. If a site changes its layout, blur the element once more and it will be saved again.

Can I reveal blurred content temporarily?

Yes. Press Alt+H to reveal everything, and press it again to restore all blurs. To reveal a single item, Alt+click it. This is useful for presentations and lessons, for example revealing quiz answers one at a time.

What does the free version include?

The free version includes click-to-blur with up to 10 blurs per page, along with intensity control, reveal and clear. A license unlocks unlimited blurs, Blur Area, text-selection blur, Keep Blur, and Auto-blur for emails, phone numbers, card numbers and API keys.

What is your refund policy?

All sales are final, which is why VeilKit offers a free version you can try on your own sites before buying. We will refund duplicate or accidental charges, and any purchase where a fault prevents VeilKit from working for you and we are unable to fix it within 30 days. Any refund rights you have under applicable law also apply.
